A book I am considering reading is The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. I have some previous knowledge about this book from other classes and thought it was pretty interesting. Also I like to learn about things that are realistic and from history. Dealing with the corruption of the meat packing industry, this book seems like it would be very exciting to read.

Some of my favorite books are The Hunger Games series. I was introduced to the series in Individualized Literature by some fellow class mates. The books are full of action, romance, comedy and many other genres. Each book keeps you guessing about whats going to happen next and always has you on the edge of your seat.
Another book I thought was really interesting was Jude. It is about a boy growing up in the ghetto who's father gets killed by drug dealers. He is then sent to live with his wealthy mother which in the long run eventually causes him to get framed and go to prison.

Two Lithuanian immigrants who have recently arrived in Chicago, are being married. They hold their or wedding feast, according to Lithuanian custom. Then they take place in the acziavimas: the guests, linking their hands, form a rotating circle while the musicians play; the bride stands in the middle and each male guest takes a turn dancing with her. After the dance, each male guest is expected to drop money into a hat, but when they notice many people not giving money they decide they are going to have to work hard to earn more money. In Packingtown, the town they are living in, men, women, and children all work grueling hours for little pay so this is a difficult task./http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/jungle/
